Housing Locator

97% of clients housed through the housing locator network remained in stable housing one year later.

Our Vision

We envision the assistance of a Housing Locator available to anyone who is facing a housing crisis.

What is the "Network's" role?

The Housing Locator Network is comprised of non-profit organizations and local service providers who work to support the Housing Locators and their client's needs.

What is a Housing Locator?

A Housing Locator works to understand the unique set of needs and challenges that many prospective renters now face when searching for a stable place to live. Housing Locators walk individuals and families through the entire rental process. They also provide valuable landlord connection resources, financial planning and access to a comprehensive Responsible Resident training course.

Housing Locators are in many ways like Real Estate Agents for homeless families. If you are wondering why Housing Locators are so desperately needed, ask yourself this question: How successful would your apartment search be without access to the knowledge and guidance of a Leasing Agent? By focusing their efforts primarily on finding these families affordable housing, they provide much needed hope, stability, and connections to community resources. The “new” homeless population looks a lot like the rest of the population, mainly because so many families have been affected by the economic and housing crisis.
