Planned Giving

What better way to create a living memorial of your life and continue to help those in need than to name GSH as a beneficiary in your will? By designating GSH as a recipient of even a small part of your estate, you will continue to help those in need.

The following are choices for joining the Good Shepherd Housing Legacy Fund:

  • Bequest:
Specify either a percentage of assets or specified dollar amount for Good Shepherd Housing in your will or estate plan. This allocation can come from various assets in your estate, including cash, securities or other investments.
  • Charitable Remainder Trust:
Through a professionally managed trust, provide income for yourself, your children or spouse, or anyone you designate for a fixed period of time, with the trust assets allocated to Good Shepherd Housing at the end of the term. Trust payments may be fixed, or based on a fixed-percentage payout.
  • Life Estate:
Gift your home to Good Shepherd Housing while living in it for life. This arrangement enables you to enjoy life in your home, while receiving an immediate tax deduction, and making a substantial charitable gift.
  • Life Insurance:
Gift a fully paid life insurance policy to Good Shepherd Housing.

NOTHING HERE IS TO BE CONSTRUED AS LEGAL ADVICE AND YOU SHOULD CONSULT WITH YOUR LAWYER BEFORE TAKING ANY ACTION.

If you are considering GSH as a beneficiary for your will or bequest, please email Karen Jupiter at kjupiter@goodhousing.org or call (703)768-9404.
