Playing Stump The Band
After being a member of the staff team for eight and a half years, it has become harder to stump me. Over the years I’ve benefited from conversations with longtime volunteers, donors, staff and community members. I’m proud to hold this institutional knowledge.
So, imagine my surprise to see our agency name pop up in a news article
about then-candidate Charniele Herring’s background. As the article explains, she was a VISTA volunteer here at GSHFS. I knew we’d had VISTAs in the past, but never knew any specific names.
I’m thrilled to know her connection to our work and mission. And, I look forward to a trip to the General Assembly this coming Monday, where I can shake her hand congratulating her on the new role as Delegate. Maybe then, or after hustle of her first session ends, I can get her up to speed on what’s happened in the decade or so since she was last here.
