Zai Jian!

I can't believe the time has come for me to head off to China. That's right, I'm getting on a plane early Monday morning for 2 weeks abroad. Officially it is to finish up my master's degree program (in public policy), but the more I've read and studied about the country, the more intrigued I become.

And, as a nervous traveller, it provides me some comfort that my cousin Jeff lives in Beijing. We plan to meet up during some of my free nights in that city. His only request was that I bring him a decent pair of blue jeans, which he has yet to find available for purchase over there. Curious, but true!

So, until my return in June...zai jian! (goodbye)

Giving Tweeting a Try

I've thought about it for weeks.

No.
Yes.
Later.
Too late?

Well, after too much thought and little action, I'm doing it. Follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/GoodShepExec

What is an RSS Feed?

To the uninitiated RSS is simply another crazy computer acronym that is better to avoid than bother understanding.

But, to those that have discovered the world of RSS feeds and readers. It has become a whole new way to explore the constantly changing Internet. Simply put, it is a way to subscribe to web feeds for regularly updated online content, such as blogs or newspapers. Yes, including our very own blog!

So gone are the days of having to bookmark a million webpages, checking regularly to see if it's been updated and missing important posts. Instead, an RSS feed brings the content to you and your reader automatically!

Ready to dive in and give it a try? Want to know which reader you should use? Well, I refer you to one of my favorite blogs (and RSS subscriptions) -- Lifehacker and their Hive Five selections for best rss readers.

Already subscribing to ours or other RSS feeds? Let us know your experience in the comments.
