DON’T WANT TO SEE SUMMER END?

GSH HAS THE SOLUTION:  ENDLESS SUMMER!

Got plans for October 4?  GSH is giving you one more chance to live it up and pretend that summer never left!  Just picture this:

  • dancing to the music of Still Surfin’, a dynamite Beach Boys tribute band;
  • enjoying great grilled food provided by our good friends at Outback Steakhouse; and
  • sharing a night of fun with friends old and new – all to benefit the programs of Good Shepherd Housing!

Who can beat that?

It’s a fact:  these are tough times.  Frankly, it’s hard to imagine how may people in our community are struggling to provide safe and stable housing for their families, to pay for gas or public transportation to get to work, or to keep their utilities from being shut-off.  Here’s a chance to help those folks out, and have a great time doing it!

Joy Newland and Leigh Edmunds, our Endless Summer Co-Chairs, have been working overtime with their committee to come up with some fun new twists.  Be prepared to be wowed by dance demonstrations by our very own Executive Director – Shannon Steene - and a gracious and talented supporter, Emma Rodriguez.  Then you can show off your own moves in a dance contest or two!  There will be costume contests to recognize the Loudest Hawaiian Shirt, the Classic Beach Boy Look, and the Sharpest Couple – so plan your attire accordingly!  Of course, we’ll also have the 50/50 raffle that is popular every year.

Leigh has personally selected some nice wines for the cash bar – including several French whites, an Australian Shiraz, and an Argentine Malbec.  He’s also lined up Stella Artois and Yeungling Lager on tap.

A great cause.  A live band, lively dancing, steak and chicken on the barbie, and an evening spent with friends.  Who can pass up that combination?  Please join us - and keep summer alive for one more night!

When life hands you a down server - - clean your desk!
That's what happened yesterday. I couldn't access documents on our server, and while I made more phone calls than usual, I also cleaned my desk.

Who knew that the mottled gray surface could be so aesthetically pleasing? It certainly is in comparison to the paper piles that used to be there.
